Hello friends :) wow time is sure flying past this year. I am thrilled to release a new single of a song I wrote for my girls - and in turn for everyone :) THAT'LL BE ME, Recorded at KrossKut Studios and released Sept 2016. I wrote this sing on the plane heading for WA outback - this is about how I connect with my girls - all spread out in Australia - Country and city - and my hope is that the world will take this to heart and soul and feel not so alone. I am singing this song with combined choir members of Bella Mama, Sarina Sings Community Choir and Choir of Unheard Voices on 8th October 2016 at Mackay Mental Health & Wellbeing Expo. Looking forward to that - and I certainly love the look on faces as they start to smile with this song….:)
I have had a busy time travelling since our last chat, been to Yellowbelly Festival at St George Qld, what a beaut Aussie town and community - we raced the floods home too, but made it. Grandchester Heritage afternoon was a real treat in an old hall, near Ipswich Qld - if only those walls could speak - my imagination ran wild as I thought about all the wonderful gatherings of the past there. A lovely little club indeed.
the Rat's of Tobruk Dinner was held in August - such an honour to sing for them all and to listen to the stories told, I have no need to feel hard done by in this life when we hear about what they did for us. I had the sad privilege of singing at the funeral for one of our local diggers who sadly passed away, may He Rest In Peace, dear soldier. With that in mind I am putting on an afternoon tea of old songs at another old diggers home this weekend.
I'm gearing up for Mildura Country Music Festival in a week or 2, then Munna Creek, then Rosewood, Pittsworth then Perth and Melbourne areas all before Christmas.
In between of course I keep the pen pushing at work hahah.
Nov 8 sees Ian and myself celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary, he feels every bit of it apparently :)
I love seeing you all, love singing for you and look forward to enjoying our wonderful country music together :)
